Known as the Pearl of the Orient, the Philippines is popular not only for the hospitality of the Filipinos but also because of its stunning and awe inspiring sceneries.

There are many reasons why foreigners come to visit the Philippines. One of these is the beautiful beaches that surround the country. It is consists of 7,107 islands, each one offering a rich biodiversity. Tropical rain forests, mangroves, and coral reefs to mountain ranges, world-class beaches, beautiful islands and a diverse range of flora and fauna are just a few to mention. The country also offers one of the longest white sand coastlines in the world.

1. Boracay

No question asked it is the top on the list. In fact, Boracay is the most popular beach in the country. Each year, millions of tourists come here to witness its beauty and the famous white sand. It also received the award Best Beach in the World by Yahoo and TripAdvisor. Boracay is a haven (as they say) where you can find everything. Restaurants, clubs, private and leisure resorts, nice hotels, spa and massage stations, diving spots, malls and bars they are all in the island.

2. El Nido

Also hailed as one of the beautiful beaches in the world, El Nido in Palawan has an extraordinary natural splendour and ecosystem. It ranked No. 14 among the CNN’s Top 100 Most Beautiful Beaches in the World. The island also has its own white sand. In fact, 50 of its beaches have this. The water is also rich in sea life, which includes marine mammals. Dolphins and dugongs are just some of the endemic mammals you can find here.

3. Puerto Galera

Located in Oriental Mindoro Province, Puerto Galera is a UNESCO protected site since 1973. It also offers one of the most diverse diving sites in Asia and has the densest population of marine species in the world according to research conducted by the University of the Philippines. Puerto Galera is easier to reach compared to Boracay since you can reach it by a car or via Bus from Manila Terminal.

4. Samal Island

Also known as, the Garden City of Samal, this beautiful island is approximately 2 kilometres away from Davao City, the capital of Mindanao, and a whopping 1400 kilometres from Manila. Just like Boracay and Palawan, it also has a good number of white and pink sand beaches. Samal Island is also popular for its

world-class resorts including Kaputian Beach Resort, the famous Pearl Farm, and the Paradise Island.

5. Panglao Island

This island located in Bohol is similar to Boracay. It has clear blue water and fine white sand. One of the famous beaches found here is the Alona Beach, which can be congested and overpriced during peak season. Dumaluan and Doljo beaches are also popular. The diving spots around the island are among the best in the Philippines.

6. Coron

Located also in Palawan, Coron is a gem of natural beauty with steep limestone cliffs, white sand beaches, and seven mountain lakes. In fact, it is among the top 10 best scuba diving sites in the world by Forbes Travel magazine. Behind the majestic rock formations, there is a secret lagoon with crystal blue-green waters encircled with limestone formations and white sand shores.

7. Palaui Island

Found in Cagayan Valley, Palaui Island is a part of the top ten of the world’s most beautiful beaches. CNN, who gave the award, described it as a raw beauty where nature unfolds with flora and fauna, volcanic rocks, powdery white sands, and rich marine biodiversity. It is literally an untouched paradise so you will not be able to find any hotels or restaurant here. If you are planning to stay overnight, you need to camp beside the beach.

8. Pagudpud

Referred to as the Boracay of the North, Pagudpud in Ilocos Norte is popular for its fine white sands, numerous water activities and of course crystal blue waters. What makes your trip exciting is that, there are many attractions on the way to Pagudpud such as the Patapat Viaduct and the Bangui windmills.

9. Siargao Island

Siargao Island in Surigao Del Norte has the largest mangrove forest in Mindanao, which is a source of rich marine biodiversity. It is popular because of its shape, which is similar to a tear. The island is a great location for diving, snorkeling and most specially, surfing.

10. Bantayan Island

Located in the Queen City of the South, Cebu; Bantayan Island has one of the most amazing sandbars. The good thing about this place is that it is not as crowded as any other beaches like Boracay and Palawan. Skydiving and Scuba Diving are just some of the activities you can do in the island.
